At the End of the Day

It happened to me again...
while trying to set up a shot of this wood fleur de lis for a post...
I see one of my shabby white boxes
and a few tintypes stacked together,
out of the corner of my eye.
I just knew some of the tintypes would fit inside the box sections, like a frame.
Although some did not fit, a photo opportunity was there.
It's the way my life is,
heading one direction one minute
and a completely other direction
the next second.
So much for my planned shots.
It's all good though.
I think I'll keep my tintype shabby box.
At the end of the day, I'm truly happy.

Enjoy the rest of this week
and I will see you all on Friday!

Blissful Whites Wednesday Vignettes

This Blissful Whites Wednesday all started
when I looked out my studio window.
Where I create jewelry - on a shabby white table - an unexpected vignette appears.
Treasures placed together somehow produce a picture moment.
 I love when that happens.
A shelf in my studio holds various gifts and collections.
Isn't it interesting how you must keep certain items within eyesight?
As much as we move items around, a few treasures always remain near.
New found French bits from Corey Amaro's brocante shop.
Something to focus on this weekend.
As I swing around to where I started,
I realize what we love becomes a part of us.
To all the collectors out there -
capture a little beauty with your camera
and perhaps you will capture a part of you.

Inspired to Organize

I have always had an inspiration box on my work table.
Certainly with all the inspiration we get daily
from Pinterest and other blogs....getting inspired has become a way of life.
All it took was one image
and I grabbed an old wood box
and started filling her up with supplies.
Everything is ready to pull for my customer's packages.
Create a supply box of your own, you will not be sorry.
I always tuck in a little surprise in with my orders.
I always have.
It makes me smile and I know it makes them smile, they tell me so.

NEW IN MY STUDIO
It's velvet dreams right now in my studio
for a couple of special orders.
I have so many custom orders to finish
but I'm in heaven working with this beautiful velvet fabric at the moment.

The gorgeous white gathered fabric beneath this velvet piece
is from Ikea
yes I said Ikea.
It's the Ofelia Blanket, a super soft blanket
that you will not want to let out of your sight.
I should have grabbed two.

Wearing the Past

Yesterday I was living in the past.
Pulling out my authentic gem tintypes and using them in my jewelry.
It was tedious and it was very time consuming but at the end of the day, I smiled.
You see, I love to keep my supplies for a long long time before using them.
I know a lot of you do the same thing.
It isn't easy cutting an antique piece of anything,
whether it be fabric, lace, paper or a tintype.
Finding the right settings could take months.

My pieces are simple compared to most designs.
I personally like to wear several necklace pieces at the same time.
I like grouping my necklaces together.
I created these to wear alone or grouped with other necklaces.
I really love the art deco findings I found and
they are what inspired me to finally create these three necklaces.
Gem tintypes with rosy cheeked women.
They are my favorite tintypes, a bit of color in them.
Wearing the past.
I am no longer apprehensive to create with tintypes and jewelry.

Thanks for stopping by!
