Rosemary Napkin Rings for Thanksgiving Day

I don't know what was more exciting...

the fact our office closed today at 1:30 pm

or

the upcoming wonderful Thanksgiving 4 day weekend!

I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I got home.

Our weather is perfect right now at 68-70 degrees and sunny.

I headed to our yard for fresh Rosemary

to make Rosemary napkins rings 

for a Thanksgiving Day dinner table.

We will be enjoying this holiday with our friends, 

who just moved here this year.

They are celebrating their first Arizona Thanksgiving.

They both keep calling me and saying

"isn't this weather great?"

Yes it is, my friend, yes it is.

As we celebrate and give thanks tomorrow

I hope you have the most wonderful Thanksgiving ever!

Feathered Nest Friday

A French Romantic Collection

 Hoping something good would be born from my studio spring cleaning

I pulled out my shabby and chippy jewelry boxes

 Filled them with treasures

 Two more are in the making

Next I glanced at the toile fabric that needed to be shared

and created these fabric covered books

A Faux Tintype Tutorial

At last, after numerous requests....

my faux tintype tutortial

Here is what you will need:

1. your images printed on cardstock

2. black cardstock

3. glue

4. Ranger's Glossy Accents

5. wax paper or freezer paper to work on

(trust me you will need it)

Keep your images together as large as possible.

It's easier to add the Glossy Accent to larger pieces.

Lay your freezer paper down (slick side up).

Slowly squeeze the Glossy Accents on your images

 and using your finger swipe the liquid downward.

Do Not Swirl. How you apply this - is how it dries.

Let dry for 1-3 hours.

Glue the dried images onto black cardstock.

Let this dry for 1 hour.

Carefully cut the images and you can allow the black cardstock to show on the edges.

Up to you.

Trim them as you like and you can make a charm

 by using a hole punch and a jumpring.

For your art, for adding to a wrapped gift...so many things you can do with these.

Take your time, do not rush.

Remember, mistakes are a part of the learning process.

A White Wednesday Vignette

I'm sharing with you

as I pull together some petite new creations,

gifts from friends

and treasures I cannot part with.

It started with these vintage earrings

I bought them to use on one of my art pieces...

just couldn't do it...I love them so much.

Using my newly altered matchboxes, 

along with petite gifts from friends (merci Marie)

my vignette grew....

All shades of ivory and whites

and another letter holder I painted and 

filled with French supplies.

treasure from my friend Lilla

Lilla's art has changed my life. 

I won this beautiful shabby brooch creation from her blog. 

It's base is a waxed French ephemera page and

I worried every day how the Arizona heat might harm it

sitting in my mailbox.

It arrived safe and beautiful.
