French Friday Winner on a Rainy Day

Congratulations Doni - your name was chosen from the name box!

Maybe it's the cooler weather and rain off and on for 3 days that make me so happy today. We haven't seen rain in so long and these storms are more than welcome. We are not used to all this humidity but we'll take it - it's part of our monsoon season. Sort of reminds me of home - good ole humid Chicago - as my Father would say, "you wear this weather it's so humid".

I'm churning out more and more pieces this morning than I can remember making in one week! When I get inspired and believe me, I've been inspired, I can't stop sewing.

I'm so glad to hear some of you are inspired by my pieces. Nothing pleases me more than to hear that. If you have any questions, please send me an email, I will answer as quickly as possible.

One question I read in the comments was about my labels. Sometimes they are stamped with a rubber stamp but most of the time, I run the fabric paper through my printer and print them from a word document that has French words and sayings on it. I hope that answers your question.

Why Packages Make Me Happy

Whether they arrive from a new friend, an old friend, family or France, I smile, I'm excited and cannot wait to open them. It's part of the reason I started French Fridays.

I received this wonderful package from Rhonda of RhondaMum - she has a wonderful ephemera filled Etsy shop. French flash cards and more. You made my day my French loving friend. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've got to believe, like attracts like in our creative world. I'm smiling at your kindness and warmth.

I also received a package from France - snips of vintage French lace - amazingly saved from a sewing project - found in a box of lace long forgotten. If I ever use them in a project, you will know, I will mention it in the description. For now I'm admiring them as I walk by my work table - I'm just like that - saving things for future projects - don't worry, they'll call out to me....Use Me...Use Me.... :)

French Friday Winner

Congratulations Debra of Common Ground!

The cute landscaper, aka the man of the house, chose #15 and that was your number! He just yells the number out to me - he's so not into this anymore - LOL He's so busy, you know.

Please send me an email with your mailing address and your pocket will be on it's way. Parisgal56@yahoo.com

Some of you asked where I purchased the scrim. Well, in my frantic and obsessive searching I found some on Etsy (UK seller) and then viola - I found the Online Fabric Store (US)....fabulous selections there. If you want to add a little vintage look to your creations, this is the fabric. I was beginning to wonder if they even sold scrim in the US.

Keep your eyes open for some to be in my shop soon, I'm thinking of making fabric bundles and I will include the scrim. My bundles will have themes and I hope they will make someone happy to have all they need in one tied up bundle.
