A Little More of Paris

I keep getting emails asking for more Paris images and you know I aim to please.

To get you in the mood - you must see this quick video I took in Paris - I just love it!
(sure hope this works...I've never downloaded a video to my blog before this)

Some random daily shots of Paris, oh the memories....

The gorgeous trees in the park behind Notre Dame

Now this is what I call green

Doorways in Paris amazed me

The streets were so romantic and dreamy

Wrought Iron calls to me

This one is for Terri and Rhonda
Me and Marie - she said to say hello to you both!

In Versailles, all I could think of was getting to the Petit Trianon

Behind the Petite Trianon is a bridge to a long walk to the Hamlet, where Marie Antoinette spent
a lot of her days away from the palaces

From what I've read - she was happiest here, can you blame her?

Touching a gate that Marie Antoinette touched was the highlight of my whole trip
(never mind the ugly shoes, they were comfy).

Au revoir on this Saturday morning....have a wonderful day mon amies.

Paris Jet Lag for Sale

As I closed my Paris room's shutters......

and watched my very last French tv show (Friends in French)

I said a goodbye to one of my favorite cities in the world. I will be back and I will spend the whole time at the flea markets and brocantes - this I know.

We passed the Eiffel Tower on the way to the airport....sigh

Unpacking my finds from Paris

As they say, it's good to be home. I will be sharing more photos in the days to come.

It's back to creating for my shop and simply catching up in life.

I leave you with this note, Paris is affordable, save like you've never saved before
and you can make there and have a wonderful time, believe me.
xoxoxo Rhonda - now I really feel like a Parisgal

My Last Day in Paris

My last full day in Paris started out very slow, room service and enjoying the morning.

What beautiful weather and for my last full day in Paris, Deb and I walked to the Jardin du Luxembourg. What a very beautiful place this is and only 1 block from our hotel.

See the Eiffel Tower?

Wonderful fountains

Beautiful monuments

Parisienne's enjoying a warm Sunday at the Jardin du Luxembourg

For mon amie, Michelle, found in a cafe during lunch today.

When you end your day with a macaroon, it's all good.

Thank you all for all of your wonderful comments. This has been a dream come true, I've waited many years to visit Paris and was literally everything I expected. They do walk down these old streets with warm bread in their bags, they have a passion for food like I've never seen, they dress to the nines and they will smile if you smile. I've got all my wonderful memories, photos and gifts.  Now, if I could only figure out their trains and subways, I'd be happy. Oy - I can only say I know more this week than I knew when I first arrived. C'est la vie.

I miss the man of the house and Sophie so much and they miss me. So home I must go but I've left a piece of my heart here in this beautiful city of lights. Au revoir Paris, I will be back one day.

Paris Flea Market

I've been waiting for a long time to go to a Paris Flea Market. Today was the day. I could hardly sleep the night before, I was so excited. We took the train all the way to the last stop for the Marche Aux Puces Flea Market. I had my euros, I had my Evian, I had my big bag.....I was ready.

Oh Momma, I'm in heaven

For my dear friends Amy and Rhonda....I thought of you both today when I saw this booth.

Now this is what I dream about, rows and rows of French booths.

I don't think this next photo needs words......I was in complete shock that I found a box of laces and trims. My face is saying...."seriously?"

What a day and I am one happy shopper, a thrifty shopper at that. I promise more photos of this day.

The Beautiful Notre Dame

We can walk to Notre Dame, it is that close to our hotel. We strolled slowly to Notre Dame, shopping along the way. It was very warm today in Paris and I thought it was going to cool.

Paris is an amazing city, very busy, very lively, everything I love is here. The cafes are sweet, the restaurants are plentiful. Menu chalkboards everywhere, open doors, baskets of bread, waiters and so many different bottles of wine and water. Oh, the fromage, the fromage, is so good.

Versailles and Marie Antoinette

Versailles and Marie Antoinette today and I have the sore legs to prove it. I was not prepared for the size of it all. We rented the golf carts available, if someone had not told us you could rent them, we would have never known. No signs, no big arrow pointing to the carts - saying there's no way you walk this whole palace. There are tour trolleys but you cannot get off to tour anything once you are on.

We parked at the Petite Trianon, where else? It brought tears to my eyes, I touched the door handles, I touched the gate at the farm like buildings way, way, way in the back of Marie's Petite Trianon. Both are considered Petite Trianon and I'd really like to know where which building she lived in while she was there.

What a day, an incredible emotional day, touring where Marie Antoinette lived was the best part of this trip, so far. To say I walked where she walked is going to keep me happy for years to come. The birds were singing and I felt her presence, she loved her Petite Trianon and now I know why. The gardens, the sheep, the quietness was amazing. Spring was in the air and so many couples were kissing here. Awe.

Until tomorrow, Rhonda
